The above illustration shows surface currents in the Southern Ocean (m/s) as simulated in a 1/8° model configuration based on NEMO ocean model. This model configuration was developped during SouthernCross project for studying the role of mesoscale eddies in the response of the Southern Ocean to atmospheric variability.
